I have a 64-bit server with ISS7.
I have a service running on it using OraOLEDB.oracle as provider.

When I try to shoot against it with SoapUi I get the result:

- System.Data The 'OraOLEDB'.oracle provider is not registered on the local machine.

I have tried these ideas - OraOLEDB.Oracle provider is not registered on the local machine, but it didnt help.

I have read about Oracle_home and that i should set the right security on it, but I don't have a Oracle_home.

I have added IIS_WPG group to the Oracle folder and set its rights to full control but it hasn't worked.

I has worked before but stopped working when I added a new version of the app. Running the old version for the moment.

Does anyone have a good idea?

  • The Oracle OLEDB provider is not installed by default when you install an Oracle client. Can you go into Regedit and see if you have an entry for HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\OraOLEDB.Oracle? _ – Ciarán Jan 17 '13 at 11:23

    Is your IIS app running in 64 bits or 32 bits? You can set this in IIS. If you are running your app in 64 bits but have installed 32 bits Oracle driver or vice versa that can cause this kind of problems. – GTG Jan 17 '13 at 14:43
