Orgyia rupestris is een vlinder uit de familie van de spinneruilen (Erebidae), onderfamilie donsvlinders (Lymantriinae). De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1832 door Rambur.
Deze nachtvlinder komt voor in Europa en Afrika.
